What does Selection Speech TTS Pro do?›
It lets your visitors highlight any text on a page and hear it spoken aloud via the browser’s built-in Text-to-Speech (SpeechSynthesis) — no external TTS API or extra costs.
Does it require a paid TTS service (AWS, OpenAI, etc.)?›
No. The plugin uses the end-user’s browser/OS voices. That keeps it lightweight, private, and cost-effective.
Which browsers and devices are supported?›
Modern Chrome, Edge, Safari, and Firefox on desktop and mobile support SpeechSynthesis. However, mobile's SpeechSynthesis might not work well because of different control mechanism. Available voices differ by OS/browser. If a very old browser lacks support, the mini-player won’t appear.
Will it slow down my site?›
It’s lightweight and only runs when a visitor selects text. There are no large audio files to load and no network calls to external TTS providers. All speech processing happens locally in the user’s own browser, so there’s no server communication for converting text to speech and virtually no impact on your site’s performance.
Is it accessible?›
Yes. The mini-player uses semantic HTML, ARIA attributes, and keyboard navigation. It complements (not replaces) screen readers and native OS accessibility tools.
Can I try it before paying?›
Yes. There’s a 3-day free trial for Monthly and Yearly plans (no credit card required). After the trial, a lightweight free version remains available to your site’s visitors.
What’s the difference between Monthly, Yearly, and Lifetime?›
Monthly/Yearly plans include updates and support for the duration of the subscription (trial available). After the subscription ends, you’ll still receive updates, but only the free version features will remain active.
Lifetime is a one-time purchase that includes updates and support according to the Lifetime plan terms (trial not available).
How many sites can I use it on?›
Each license is per site. If you need multiple sites, purchase the appropriate number of licenses.
Does it work with Gutenberg, classic editor, Elementor, etc.?›
Yes. It’s editor-agnostic because it attaches to selectable text on the front end. No shortcodes or blocks are required.
Will ad-blockers or Content Security Policy (CSP) interfere?›
Ad-blockers generally do not interfere with the plugin. If you have a strict Content Security Policy (CSP), make sure it permits the plugin’s assets (and the Freemius checkout service, if used) to load. The plugin’s behavior may vary slightly for each visitor, depending on their individual browser settings and available voices.
Does it collect user data or send audio to a server?›
No. Speech happens locally in the user’s browser. The plugin doesn’t upload text or audio. Basic licensing/checkout data is handled by Freemius when you purchase.
How do I uninstall or disable it?›
Deactivate it from Plugins → Installed Plugins in WordPress. Remove it completely by clicking “Delete.” Your site returns to normal text selection behavior.
Where can I get support?›
Paid plans include priority support. For assistance, please use the contact form on the plugin page after installation,
or email us at computeadmin [at the rate of] computing4all.com with your questions.
